Questions and Answers
Q: Why is the load capacity so low for this collection of Sugatsune Hinges. It seems like similar designs from other OEMs have significantly higher load capacities. I want use these hinges for a 23lb cabinet door (58" tall x 17.5" wide). Considering that the doors are not very wide meaning the CofG is much closer to the axis rotation than typical doors, do you think these hinges will be ok?
A: My personal opinion is the Sugatsune America SLPAS-80 Overlay Pivot Door Hinge, 3-1/8" Length - 1 Pair will handle the 23 lb weight of your doors, but the manufacturers published data clearly states 8.8 lb.
